UFC Moscow Preview

The UFC is heading to Moscow, Russia and Zabit Magomedsharipov will be the main event. The event will be held at the CSKA Arena. With the prelims starting at 11:00 am EST, and the main card starting at 2:00 pm EST.

Main Event Issues

The main event was originally supposed to be Junior Dos Santos vs. Alexander Volkov. When JDS had to pull from the fight due to injury, Greg Hardy put his name in the hat to replace him. The UFC then moved that fight to the co-main slot, making the new main event Zabit vs. Calvin Kattar. A fight that was originally set for UFC Boston a few months ago, but was postponed due to an injury to Zabit. The main event will remain a three round fight due to the fact that it was changed two weeks out.

The Rematch

On the prelims, Jessica Rose Clark will take on Pannie Kianzad in a rematch thats four years in the making. Kianzad won their first bout by Unanimous Decision in 2013 at Invicta Fights 13. Clark is 2-1 since entering the UFC. While Kianzad just lost her UFC debut to Julia Avila back in July.

The Return Of Volkov

This Saturday will see the return of Alexander Volkov. His last fight being a knock out loss to Derrick Lewis in October of 2018. After coming to the UFC , Volkov went on a four fight winning streak proving to be the next big prospect at heavyweight. This earned him a fight with Derrick Lewis. A fight in witch he was winning each round of. Towards the end of the third round though, he got caught with his hands down and got knocked out with about ten seconds left in the fight. Volkov has a 30-7 pro record with 20 of those wins coming by KO or TKO.

The entire card will be broadcasted on ESPN+ this weekend. See link below to hear the entire main card break down from The BBQ Pit.
