Chase Hooper keeps it moving after his first round stoppage in late March. He will now take on Chris Coggins at Island Fights 56 on May 9th.
Hooper is 7-0-1 in his pro MMA career. He is currently fighting on a UFC developmental deal. He earned this deal after winning his fight on DWTNCS. He won his Island Fights debut on March 22 due to referee stoppage. 5 out of his 7 wins are finishes, witch is a big reason the UFC took a liking to him.
He will be fighting MMA veteran Chris Coggins. Chris holds a 7-11 pro MMA record. He is currently on a 5 fight losing streak. 4 of those 5 losses are Chris being knocked out as well. Chris has faced a lot of talent is his career though. Holding losses to Scott Holtzman, Nick Newell, and Gavin Tucker.
To the average fan this looks like the young rising star is being fed on his road back to the UFC. That being said you can never count the veteran out. Coggins will come into the fight more experienced, and if the fight gets into the later rounds Coggins will have more cage time there.
Island Fights 56 is on May 9th in Orange Beach, Alabama. You can watch this event on UFC fight pass, along with other great promotions such as INVICTA FC, CES, and more.
