Eric Wisley Out, Mike Davis Steps In To Fight Gilbert Burns at UFC Fort Lauderdale

Eric Wisley was originally slated to fight Gilbert Burns on April 27th. He recently withdrew with that contest after being diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-white. It’s a rare heart problem that could end his fighting career.

Stepping in for Wisley is Mike Davis. Davis last fought at Island fights 54 back in March. He won that fight via first round submission. Davis has had a long road getting back to the UFC. His return to the UFC will come on home turf. Fighting out of Orlando Florida, but having 5 of his 8 pro fights for the Island Fights promotion. A promotion that is based out of the Fort Lauderdale area. Davis is currently 7-1 in MMA with 7 finishes, he will be looking to make it 8 against Gilbert Burns on short notice.

Gilbert Burns holds a 7-3 UFC record. Going 2-1 in the year 2018, this being his first fight of 2019. He has a 14-3 pro record and 12 out of his 14 wins are finishes. Burns has never been submitted in his pro MMA career.

This fight can be seen on the espn+ app. It will be live April 27th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
