UFC Vet Josh Barnett signed a contract with Bellator MMA today , live on Ariel Helwani’s weekly show. Josh’s last fight was a submission win over Andrei Arlovski back in 2016. He holds a 35-8 pro MMA record, 21 out of those 35 wins coming by way of submission.
Rumors suggest that his first opponent in Bellator will be heavyweight contender Javy Ayala. Both men have defeated both Frank Mir and Sergei Kharitonov. Ayala is 11-7 in his pro career. With 7 out of 11 wins coming by knock out.
Looks like Barnett taking a break from his pro wrestling career to make a return to the cage. Barnett’s pro wrestling event labeled “Bloodsport” is on April 4th. So it is likely he will make his Bellator debut sometime mid summer.
