Conor McGregor was arrested this morning in Miami. Charges of misdemeanor criminal mischief and felony strong-armed robbery were the reason for the arrest. Allegedly, this occured during a run-in with a fan.
The Miami Herald reported that at 5 a.m., McGregor slapped the phone out of the fan’s hand while he was trying to snap a picture of the fighter outside of the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel. According to the report, McGregor stomped the phone multiple times, then picked it up and walked away.
Mr. McGregor was apprehended later in the day after police officials investigated the incident. The victim stated the phone is worth upwards of $1000. There is also supposed to be surveillance footage of the incident.
McGregor’s Miami lawyer released the following statement: “Conor was involved in a minor altercation involving a cell phone that resulted in a call to law enforcement. Mr. McGregor appreciates the response of law enforcement and pledges his full cooperation.”
