Welcome back to another episode of Pure EVil MMA with EVil Eddie. On todays program we are very happy to welcome on a longtime friend of the program and absolute legend in the Combat Sports scene between his judging and reffing, Mr. Bryan Miner!!!!
Bryan drops some knowledge on listeners who want to take the step into the business side of the scene with either reffing events or judging. He tells us how to go about making these moves and who to reach out to if interested. He also shares how you must learn combat sports if you want to be apart of the business due to the responsibilities that are put into your hands. A lot of people don’t realize how much responsibility these referees have every single time they work an event. If someone puts their opponent in a Peruvian neck tie you better know how to disassemble that or the opponent can be severely hurt with both short and long term effects.
Bryan dives into his past and how he first found combat sports inside karate and is even with the same school he started at since the age of 8 years old at “Peter Rogers Academy Of Mixed Martial Arts” right here on the East Coast in Connecticut.
Ever wonder what all the refs do before the event begins and while they are switching shifts in-between fights? Bryan answers all the questions in the interview below:
