Fights to make after UFC Prague

UFC Prague took place on February 23rd 201, at the O2 arena in Prague, Czech Republic. In the main event Thiago Santos was able to score a third round TKO over Jan Blachowicz. The co-main event was Stefan Stuve getting back into the win coloum. With a second round submission win over Marcos Rogerio de Lima.

Thiago Santos

Thiago Santos has been climbing his way threw the light heavyweight division. His most recent win over Jan Blachowicz puts him right in contention for the title fight. This upcoming weekend Anthony Smith will challenge Jon Jones for said light heavyweight title. It would be a win-win situation for Santos to be next in line for the belt. With an impressive 15 knockouts out of his 21 wins, Santos would be a great striking challenge for Jon Jones. Santos was also the last man to defeat Anthony Smith, back when both men fought at middleweight. A rematch between the two would be great for Smith to try and build his legacy as champion.

Next fight: Thiago Santos vs. Winner of Jones-Smith (LHW title fight)

Petr Yan

Otherwise known as the Russian Mike Tyson was able to get a decision win in Prague over UFC vet John Dodson. By defeating Dodson it should send Yan flying into the top ten of the 135 pound division. A great striking match-up for Yan would be Rob Font. Font is 6-3 in the UFC, and has 7 knock outs out of his 16 pro wins. Rob last defeated Sergio Pettis at the end of 2018. Font has never been knocked out, and three out of his 4 losses are by decision. This fight is the formula for violence.

Next fight: Petr Yan vs. Rob Font

Chris Fishgold

Fishgold was able to secure a rear naked choke victory over Daniel Teymur this past weekend. Before that he suffered a knock out loss to Calvin Kattar back in October. Before that knockout loss Fishgold was on an impressive 7 fight win streak. Kattar is ranked number 15 in the featherweight division and is 3-1 in the UFC. With wins over Andre Fili, Shane Burgos, and Chris Fishgold, his only UFC loss comes to Renato Moicano. Both men would be coming off impressive victories. Rematches are always better then normal fights. Its always fun to see some kind of back story in the fights.

Next fight: Chris Fishgold vs. Calvin Kattar  (Rematch)

Gillian Robinson

Robinson impressed in Prague, with a second round rear naked choke victory over Veronica Macedo. Gillian is 3-1 in the UFC’s flyweight division. Her other two wins being Molly McCann and Emily Whitmire. 5 out of her 6 wins are via submission. Montana de la Rosa is 3-0 in the UFC , and just fought a few weeks prior to Robinson. Montana was able to pull off a submission win at UFC 234 over Nadia Kassem. 8 out of Montana’s 10 wins come via submission. Just like every MMA fan wants to see a great jiu jitsu fight between Ryan Hall and Kron Gracie, they want Robinson vs. de la Rosa all the same.

Next fight: Gillian Robinson vs. Montana de la Rosa (Battle of Jiu jitsu)

UFC 235 is this upcoming Saturday, March 2nd, and will feature two title fights. Jon Jones will defend his light heavyweight title against Anthony Smith.
